One suggestion I have is to change 1 of our 4 Center spots to either a Forward spot or a Skater spot. We all have that one C that is very bad at faceoffs but also is too good to bench, this would make it so we can play that weak C without worrying about the negative points. Even if you don't currently have a weak C, most young C's struggle for the first few years so you're likely to have one in the future.

Maybe we should ditch the faceoff stat completely?

Maybe we should ditch the faceoff stat completely? I wouldn't suggest that. Maybe lower the value of a FO win and get rid of the negative FO loss value? Removing it entirely would hurt the value of some Cs. Not the best move.

Maybe we should ditch the faceoff stat completely? I wouldn't suggest that. Maybe lower the value of a FO win and get rid of the negative FO loss value? Removing it entirely would hurt the value of some Cs. Not the best move. That's the point though, to bring them in line with wingers. I don't like removing the negative value because then it just further boosts elite 1Cs. They'll have a higher TOI, thus taking more faceoffs. The negative value helps balance that since many of the top Cs are also not the best at faceoffs. This stat was more based on helping boost like 3rd line Cs (and 4th if anyone has any), strong defensive centres who don't put up a ton of points. So, maybe shifting 1-2 C slots to F would be fine, but I'd want to limit it to non-top 6 Cs (or just top line) which would be difficult to manage. Thanks for creating this thread btw!

I would like to see a small revision to this rule.. would like a revision to say the 30 day counter starts when the season starts. Currently you can poach a rfa resign and keep on your roster and demote them eve of season starting with no real impact to your roster as the 30 days expires during the off season.
3.5 Demotions/Waivers Any player with less than 41GP can be sent to the minors without requiring waivers. Simply post in the Demotions thread with the thread title as the players’ name and contract in the pot.
Any player who does not fit this requirement must be sent through waivers where teams will have a 24 hour window to claim the player. For the first year of the league, waiver priority will be determined based on random order.
If a team successfully claims a player, they will be moved to the bottom of the order for the rest of the season, until the order resets.
Any claimed player must be placed on the NHL roster. If the player is waived to the minors again without being on a team’s roster for less than 30 days, and no other team places a claim, the original owner may choose to re-claim the player (without affecting his/her waiver priority) and declare that the player be placed in the minors or on their NHL roster.
Waivers also apply to any player that is intended to be bought out as well as prospects dropped during the buyout period.
