Based on the new rules about goalies going to new situations... I have to say that Nilsson is being given one of those situations.
No he is not the clear and away starter, but he is going to be given the opportunity to take the crease from the other netminder who is in the exact same situation. Two goalies that have both never played in more than 32 games in a season to share the crease, the math says barring injuries they should both get more than they have had this coming season.
For this we know that he will have a possibly increased role and I would like to see him get the full value of his points from last season or more and he also just came off his best year statistically.
I know it's table scraps but I'd like to see him get at least 1.5 per yr possibly 1.75.

I think that based on the rubric, this seems reasonable. The new rule about goalies going to a new situation seems to only determine whether or not the goalie should be offered a bridge contract or not. Think the salary is offered based on the prior two seasons and is a fair representation of the player to this point.

Agree with Colin, don't think he should be in a lower salary bracket after this season and looking ahead to this upcoming season. Splitting hairs, but minimum is 1.5 and that's where I'd like it to be.

I also agree that I would be looking at 1.5M at minimum. Why soo low when anyone under 2M in the minor will not count against the cap. I will approved 2 years at 1.5M per.
