All players who are over the age of 25 and were not re-signed by their respective teams become unrestricted free agents in this league.
Based on the date that will be outlined in the offseason schedule, all teams will have the opportunity to bid on free agents
The max term that can be offered is 3 years, and league minimum 750,000 per
Teams will bid on a player until no new bid has been placed for 24 hours, then the last team to place an eligible bid will win the player. Teams have 15 minutes from the time of their bid to rescind the offer. This can be done by quoting their bid and saying "offer withdrawn" or something similar. Please see the note below concerning editing or deleting bid posts.
No team can ever exceed the $85 million cap to win a player.
Bid scoring:
Bid scoring is based on the sum of the per year annual contract value but the annual contract is multiplied by a 2nd and 3rd year factor.
2nd year factor: 0.75
3rd year factor 0.5
Each incremental bid must also be 0.25 points or more higher than the previous bid to become a leading bid
Bid posting example
Thread Name: Erik Karlsson
1) Winnipeg offers 1 year @ 15,000,000 = 15 points
Remaining cap: $15,000,000
2) Arizona bids 2 years @ 10,500,000 per = 10.5+10.5(0.75) = 18.375 points
Remaining cap: $24,500,000
24 hours passes. Arizona wins Erik Karlsson
NOTE: Under no circumstance should a team EVER edit or delete their bid post. If you make a mistake when posting, then create a new post and leave the old one. Any team caught editing a post will be given a warning, 2 warnings and you will begin to lose draft picks. If a team is caught deleting a bid, they will lose their next 1st round pick and receive a 3,000,000 cap penalty for 2 seasons.
