Bridge Contract Rule: 2 year max contract term Players who fall into one or more of the following criteria are subject to the Bridge Contract Rule. a) 2 or less full NHL seasons (41+ games) played in last 4 NHL seasons b) Less than 40 games played in most recent season c) Production tier in most recent season has not been replicated in players recent seasons. d) Production tier in 2 or more previous full seasons are higher than production tier in most recent season
According to the Bridge rule, section a), Murray is only eligible for a 2 year contract.
