17-18 Tier 1 1.68 58gp 16-17 Tier 2 1.29 71gp 15-16 Tier 2 1.37 75gp 14-15 Tier 2 1.33 80gp
4 year average 1.41
offer 4 Years @ 6mil
we feel this is a fair offer as it is more then his 4 year average would suggest but as he is coming into his prime should be in line with his production

wow, he had a massive year. Since he was 1.68 that would put him at the peak of the 6.5-7.25m range. The way resigns have gone historically is he has been consistently in this range he would need a salary at the top end of the range meaning 7.25m/year. If previous years were much lower you could take a salary one range lower but typically the rule of thumb has been the top of that range is desired for approval. In this case the bottom is 6.5m so i have to reject your offer as being a little light based on how resigns have gone in the pool. In my opinion i would offer a 1 year deal at 6.5 and see how he plays this year as i cannot imagine his resign cost goes up.

He's only eligible for a bridge contract (max 2 years) because of the tier jump this year never being repeated. Can go one salary range lower, I'd approve 1 year @ 6,000,000 since the jump was so huge this year. 2 years @ 6,500,000.
As Chris said, might want to play it safe and offer 1 year @ 6,500,000 as a show me contract.
