Demoting Peter Chiarelli and naming our 10th general manager by Bob Smith
After failing to make the playoff for the 10th straight year, they simply can't ignore the status of this team. The Edmonton Oilers has decided to demote Pete Chiarelli to Vice President of Hockey Operation. Now I'm very proud to announce that our 10th General Management is none other then Frank Carriere AKA "TheNudge". Everything he's touch in the hockey world as turn into gold. This guy doesn't take failure well since he only knows how to win. His winning attitude is exactly what the Oilers fan have sought for so long. The only thing I can hope as a fan is that Frank understand what this club need to become winners. Hopefully TheNudge can bring the cup sooner rather then later and now I wish him all the luck in the world.

The Edmonton Oilers have decided to cut ties with three veteran by Bob Smith
After a long summer, the unthinkable happened. The Edmonton Oilers have decided to cut ties with Andrew Ference, Andrej Sekera and Mark Fayne. This move wasn't a easy one but a necessary one. Since the get go, Andrew Ference contract was viewed a risky one. At 3 and half million, Ference simply failed to fulfill his duty. The management gave Andrew the key to the castle at one condition which was to be the leader that this club needed to make the leap from bottom feeder to playoff contender. Ference simply didn't know how to make his presence felt and his voice heard in the locker room or on ice. The Oilers continue losing and this was the perfect time to cut ties. Mark Fayne was brought in as a shutdown defensemen to re-place Petry at a hefty price of 14 million threw 4 years. After 2 years and a minus 28 threw 143 games, the management felt it was time to move on from a blunder of a signing. Now for this third cut, Andrej Sekera has been a good top 4 defensemen but at the cost of 5 and half million until 2021 was simply idiotic. I have the confidence that this new gm can find replacement at half the cost. As a fan it's very hard to say good bye to hard worker's like these three defensemen. At this current time the only thing I can say his to wish them the best of luck in their journey of finding a new team in this upcoming season.

Oilers make a Big splash with our first Dispersal Pick by Bob Smith
September rolls around and Edmonton take the podium to announce their first selection. AKA The Nudge decide to go the obvious route which was taking a goalie. What surprise everyone is who they decided to take which was John Gibson. Why this pick as become a bit of a shocker is because Cory Schneider was still on the board. At the end of the day the Oilers gm had this to say "After defining our weakness, I decided to watch tapes on every goalies this dispersal draft had to offer with the staff. By identifying the top 4 goalies since we were drafting 4th overall which was the following in order Price, Gibson, Schneider and Crawford. By taking the cap into play, it was even more obvious we had to take Gibson once Price was selected at 3rd overall by the Leaf.

Oilers finally get their man by Bob Smith
When the second round of this dispersal draft roll around, the Edmonton Oilers had a few targets but one name we kept earing about which none other then Mikhail Sergachev. Since Edmonton had one glaring weakness which was on D's, now the question was, will Frank take a D with their second round pick or with it out. At the end of the day TheNudge announce their pick loud and clear < Mikhail Sergachev > and the crowd goes nuts!! Every fan kept chanting his name Mike Mike Mike Mike.... What a beautiful moment, as a fan and writer I can clearly say this pick was a needed one. Now let's hope this pick pays off in the long run.

Oilers decide to take BPA by Bob Smith
On a beautiful day, Mr. Carriere announce that he's taking JT Miller with their 3rd round pick. He had the following to say < after watching JT Miller play up close, I simply had no other choice but to select him. Who I felt was the best player available. He play's the game with an edge that was lacking on this roster. As a fan, I can say that this pick simply made sense. J'm excited to see what this club can do in this upcoming season.

Oilers draft two young stud by Bob Smith
On a beautiful night, TheNudge decide to go off the board with their 4th round pick by selecting the son of Brian Bellows. kieffer bellows as a better shot then his old men and I expect big things in the near future from him. A few hours later, Oilers gm decide to end the night with a boom by selecting Brock Nelson. Oh man can I say this team is shaping to be a contender in the near future. I'm very please with this new gm, I expect nothing but greatness from this point forward.

Making room by Bob Smith
This afternoon the following player's ; Matt Hendricks, Mark Letesu, Taylor Beck and Mark fraser were send down to make room for a upcoming transaction. It's sad to see these young men go threw these situation but it was a needed one. While writing this story, I hear that Thenudge decided to claim Jamie Oleksiak. I feel this is a great move since Jamie was once a top prospect. I can't say I expect big things but I can say that Jamie will be a reliable 6th D for this club.

The Nudge finally get his feet wet by Bob Smith
Finally this young gm made his first transaction by trading Eberle, 2nd and obtaining a top D in Ristolainen, a once touted prospect in Zemgus Girgensons and a 4th round. After searching high and low they finally get their RD in Ristolainen. I expect great thing from this Fin. This team is shaping into something special. This is the type of transaction I was expecting from this new gm. It might be a tad late but better late then never like they say.
