2 seasons in, I think the stats have been working for the most part and have made for some very tight matchups. We're proposing to implement the following stats to the league to add a bit more balance and properly reward strong efforts.
Skaters GWG: 0.5 fpts Hat Trick: 1 fpt Empty Net Goals: 0.5 fpts (negative point value to remove from goal point) Empty Net Assists: Eliminate (Negative points to eliminate point for assist)
Goalies OTL: Gets 1 fpt OTL
These are the only stats adjustments up for proposal this offseason. Feel free to suggest your own in the comments, which we can discuss and potentially implement next offseason.
Poll is a simple yes/no. If you agree with some stats being implemented, but not others, please indicate which in the comments.
Stats with a majority decision will be implemented for next season.
Currently Implemented Stats:
Skaters
Goal: 1.5 points Assist: 1 point Shot on Goal: 0.1 points Hit: 0.1 points Block: 0.1 points Shorthanded Points: 0.25 points Powerplay Points: 0.25 points
Centres Only
Faceoff Won: 0.1 points Faceoff Lost: -0.1 points
Goalies
Wins: 3 points Shutout: 4 points Saves: 0.1 point Goal Against: -1 point

I know it's a pain in ass, but can we get a list of all points, positive and negative that we are using including these on this page? Might make it easier for suggestions and get everyone on the same page now

I like most of it, the only thing I would say is maybe find some value above zero for the empty net assist to correlate to goals still being awarded something here. Just an idea, either way the stat changes make sense.

In my opinion, powerplay points/shorthanded assists should be 0.5 and if they are empty netters then worth just a even strength empty netter. Short handed goals should be worth a extra 1.0 point. I just looked it up, one player had 5 shg this year, 3 with 4 shg, and 10 with 3 shg. They're very hard to come by, and should be worth as such. Let me know what you guys think.

What’s the hate for empty net goals? Those are important goals and some goals are worked hard to get, and certain players the coach wants out on the ice for that exact situation

We aren't trying to eliminate their value just lessen it. You must agree that they generally they take less effort than an even strength goal, regardless of how hard they work. I'd say more than half of EN goals are a guy shooting from half or crossing the blue line and sliding it in with a mediocre shot.

SH points should be more valuable as PP points. Double more.
Btw, is there any chance for Overtime points? Goals, Assists?

ENG are a reward for the 3rd and 4th liners. I'd like to see them more at .75 per goal, and the assist at least .25
SH goals should be worth more.
