OK we will start this week with a simple one
We have had some GM's get annoyed with some teams ( I have known to be one of them) with maxing out their 7 call ups per week and grinding wins with guys that pass through waivers. So here to see how many GM's would prefer a smaller limit?
Here's what I suggest , we make IR call ups unlimited, so if someone goes down you mention the player in the call up and that call up doesn't count, and then only like 3-5 call ups to gain a day of points. It would keep the guys that get hit with a slew of injuries relevant and be a happy medium with the grinders who put the effort in to have a network of players in their minors over the years.
This is not a vote, but a discussion about what you like and dislike about the current system vs a new one similar to my suggestion. After the week is up we will have a vote on the options discussed here to change it, or leave it as is.
This post will be open from now until Sunday June 9th.

Tbh. I don’t see a difference between this revision and the current limit. You almost always have someone in fantrax with a red flag you can move around. I think 3-5 with no special exception for IR call ups. 5 call ups a week is a lot when u think about it and you should be able to cover a rash of injuries within that 5

One idea I have is to allow non-injury call ups be a weekly lock type thing and then allowing only injury fill in call ups through the week. But that could be a headache to moderate...

7 was too high. Id be fine seeing it drop to 4 per week. Should be enough flexibility to cover injuries, but not enough to let people spam callups/waivers everday (as I was also guilty of lol).

Weekly lineups are an activity killer. You just end up with a couple teams doing it and everyone let’s it ride and forgets all about it unless they have a major injury. There could also be some sort of mechanism we haven’t thought of yet that instead of limiting weekly call ups we look at a fppg cut off for guys getting demoted similar to the suggestion Jacob made in the original post about underutilization of players leading them to demand a trade. All in all. Some good discussion so far. Let’s try to keep this thread solely about waiver movement and park other items u TIL those specific discussions start. Also. Would like to see some sort of a waiver pass.

I'd prefer to keep it simple and just drop the limit (3-4/week).
Otherwise, if we give unlimited IR call-ups, then regular roster callups should be maxed at 1-2/week. I'd like to keep lineups (+bench) somewhat standard, and most NHL teams aren't calling up and sending down guys every single week.
Specifically avoided waiver passes when I started the league because I want to push player movement (making a tough decision between an underperforming player or risking him on waivers to better your lineup). Perhaps we should consider increasing the GP minimum for ELC players (or players under a certain age), so that there's some flexibility. Might be better as its own thread.

My comments for waiver pass were to cover 2 issues I see and the amount of waiver passes would be very minimal. My understanding all resigns over 42gp have to sit on your roster and by exposed to minors. There are guys over 42gp and have some future value for tanking teams but you contending teams cannot dress them. Sucks to have a guy 2 years away from being a solid asset post who is currently in your minors but has to be exposed due to a new contract being offered. I have a long term injury I need to fill and have a suitable player I could bring up but I cannot do this as I know he will not clear waivers in the future when I have to send him back down. These may not be an issue since Waiver passes would limit some talent distribution around the pool but personally it leads to me overthinking player promotion for my squad.

Also. Please don’t increase waiver free grace period. Rookies valuations are already excessive compared to vets and this would increase it more.

Yeah its hard to categorize all players under a certain gp limit as equal. But confusing also to try and separate the 2....
We could say if they have a fp/g average below a certain threshold then they can be sent down waiver free. Cause for example with Puljujarvi he has sucked but waiving him guarantee a bottom dweller would take him and if he figures it out next year the OG owner gets screwed

2 vacant GMs and one lonely lazy GM.
Votes were 13 - 4 in favor of 4 Call ups per week and starting next season. That is high enough % to push it through.
This should make the teams that abuse the waiver wire less effective and it will be more based on team strength as opposed to most man games.
Thanks for participating
