Sorta off topic here but any thought to giving the Regular Season champs and the Playoff champs extra picks or extra salary cap??

I love this idea. I personally think there should be an incentive to making the playoffs as teams in the hunt will burn futures trying to win.
Maybe the Champ gets pick #21 Runner up gets pick #42
etc,etc for all the playoff teams as a bonus? Would also like to see non-playoff teams lose cap every year they don't make it to reflect the missed revenue and maybe every year a team makes playoffs they get a slight bump. For example playoff teams get an extra 2m in cap and non playoff teams lose 2m...
thoughts?

A good idea I think...the non-playoff teams lose cap each year...hate to see teams strip it down and then take 5 years to rebuild with top choices Dont want to see teams purposely tanking to get a McDavid or Matthews
I like the idea of Playoff Champ getting a choice of pick #21 or say $1M cap extra space Regular season Champ gets what the playoff champ leaves Division winners getting picks end of 2nd round

i don;t understand the assertion that just because a team doesn't make the playoffs means they're tanking. we have a cap minimum and maximum and we have anti-tanking rules, i see no reason why non-playoff teams should lose cap. I'm all for winning teams being rewarded. I believe winning the regular season is a much bigger accomplishment than winning the playoffs- give the reg season 21 and playoff 22 in only a 20 team league giving division winners seems a bit much-also there might be vast disparities between strength of division, making winning one division far less/more of an accomplishment than winning another- don't think they should be rewarded the same. I'd rather just see the top 6 or so teams in total scored fpts get an extra pick at the end of the 2nd

I'm not a fan of hurting teams that don't make the playoffs, unless their blatantly tanking.
I'm all for giving the winner and runner up, maybe something like, 1 restructure or buyout each.

I am not looking to hurt teams that don't qualify. I am just trying to creatively think of ways to reward successful teams and encourage teams to part with futures and try to win. The non qualifying teams already get a lotto pick at the draft and will receive additional futures when they sell off expiring contracts to contending teams. The teams that really get hurt every year are the ones that are willing to sell futures to make the playoffs and don't win or even worse go out the first round.
For example i was thinking the winner gets like a bonus pick like last pick of 1st rd after all regular picks have been used. Runner up gets last pick of 2nd rd after all regular picks have been used. semi final loser gets last pick of 3rd after all regular picks have been used. etc etc
This would makeup for the futures that will get burned trying to qualify for the playoffs and make teams more willing to sell off a high end prospect to make the playoffs. It creates an interesting trade deadline market in our pool as well where teams that are clearly out get futures in exchange for existing quality players.

Great ideas Chris.
My opinion differs, I'm not sure why you need an incentive to win. That's the whole point of any fantasy league. I do stand by my suggestions earlier in the thread as there's a level of strategy to it, taking on extra years of contracts to have a player in your lineup in an attempt to win the cup. If you win, brilliant, buy the player out. If you don't win, it's a risk that hasn't paid off.
One of the great challenges of these types of leagues is managing your team so that you can be competitive year-in-year-out. I don't feel we need to give teams extra draft picks as it will hurt the teams that are genuinely struggling and are in need of a re-build.
